CONFIRMATION 2026

Students who complete Faith Formation Levels 7 & 8 (PREP, Catholic School, Homeschool) and who are properly disposed are admitted for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates for confirmation and their parents/guardians attend an orientation meeting to explore the preparation process.

LEVEL 7 THEOLOGY OF THE BODY FOR TEENS (Ascension)
You must create an account in order to access the videos. The email containing the invitation to set up an account is sent to registered families at the start of the program.

PREP STUDENTS:

Prior to each student session complete the Lesson listed on the syllabus.

In the student workbook, read the opening pages of the Lesson.
Sign in to the Ascension Thinkific platform and watch the videos for the assigned Lesson, completing the video prompts in the workbook.
Read the remainder of the Lesson. Fill in the "In Your Own Words" sections.
In your journal, complete the "Work It Out" activity.
After attending the weekend Mass, reflect on what you heard, saw and experienced. Write your weekly Mass reflection in your journal. Provide the date and location (church name and city) of the Mass.

PREP PARENTS/GUARDIANS:

Prior to the January 11 student session initiate an appropriate discussion with your child about marital love and the sexual union of husband and wife. It is important that young people understand the beauty and role of sexuality and the sexual union within marriage prior to our classroom discussion. Catechists will NOT address biology and physiology. Our classroom discussion will focus on the virtue of chastity, the difference between love and lust (using a person for your own gratification), and evaluating culture with the standard of chastity. Although awkward, this discussion is critical. Your child will hear many messages about sexual union. This conversation opens the door for your child to discuss conflicting messages he/she will encounter.

Read the opening pages in the student workbook.
Sign in to the Ascension Thinkific platform and watch the videos for the assigned Lesson, completing the "Watch It!" page in the student workbook.
Read the remainder of the Lesson.
Complete the Reflection Guide for the assigned Lessons and discuss your answers with a parent or sponsor.
NOTE: A parent or sponsor must review and sign the Reflection Guide.
Review any assigned Bishop's Questions.
