CONFIRMATION 2025
Students who complete Faith Formation Levels 7 & 8 (PREP, Catholic School, Homeschool) and who are properly disposed are admitted for reception of the Sacrament of Confirmation. Candidates for confirmation and their parents/guardians attend an orientation meeting to explore the preparation process.

Confirmation (Levels 7 & 8) Resources
The Sacrament of Confirmation is conferred upon students in 8th grade or older. Formal preparation begins in Level 7. Candidates for the Sacrament of Confirmation must complete Levels 7 and 8.
LEVEL 7 THEOLOGY OF THE BODY FOR TEENS (Ascension) You must create an account in order to access the videos. The email containing the invitation to set up an account is sent to registered families at the start of the program. CLICK HERE to log in. ASSIGNMENTS STUDENTS: Prior to each virtual session, complete the following: Sign in to https://ascensionpress.thinkific.com/users/sign_in. Follow the prompts for each Chapter. The system will indicate that the student has completed each section. For each assigned chapter, complete ONE item from the "Work It Out" section in the student workbook. PARENT-CHILD: Complete the following activities/discussions: Prior to each ZOOM session, complete ONE discussion or activity from the "Questions for Your Middle Schooler" or "Family Applications" section of the Parent's Guide. Prior to the ZOOM session in which we discuss Chapter 5: Review chapter 5 in the Parent Guide and the Student Book to help you initiate an appropriate discussion with your child about marital love and the sexual union of husband and wife. It is important that young people understand the beauty and role of sexuality and the sexual union within marriage prior to our classroom discussion. Catechists will NOT address biology and physiology. Our classroom discussion will focus on the virtue of chastity, the difference between love and lust (using a person for your own gratification), and evaluating culture with the standard of chastity. Although awkward, this discussion is critical. Your child will hear many messages about sexual union. This conversation opens the door for your child to discuss conflicting messages he/she will encounter. NOTE: Some options in the Parent's Guide contain private discussions between the parent and child. Parents/Students choosing these options should write a brief description of the experience without revealing private information. Please make sure the following are marked clearly on each assignment: 1) Child's Name 2) Chapter Number 3) "Work It Out" or "Family Application" Resources: 1)Talking to Kids About Tough Topics 2)A Guide to Sensitive Topics 3) Case Studies 4) VIDEO: Talking to Our Children About Sexuality Assignments must be submitted to the Parish Office by Sunday, July 21st.
